Overview
Construction Safety Manager - Data Center Projects:
We are seeking experienced Construction Safety Managers to lead safety initiatives across large-scale data center construction projects. Candidates must hold a BCSP designation/certification (e.g., STS-C, CHST, CSP, etc.) or an EHS-related degree. Data center construction experience is required. Safety professionals in this role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company safety policies, fostering a strong culture of safety, and minimizing risk to employees, subcontractors, and the public.

- Develop & Implement Safety Policies:
Establish and maintain comprehensive safety programs compliant with OSHA, state, and federal regulations. - Site Inspections:
Conduct regular jobsite safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards. - Training &
Education:
Plan and lead safety training for employees, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. - Incident Management:
Investigate and document incidents, near-misses, and safety violations; determine root causes and implement corrective actions. - Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable safety laws and ensure full project compliance. - Safety Communication:
Promote open communication and hazard reporting to reinforce a safety-first culture. - Risk Assessment:
Evaluate project-specific risks and collaborate with construction teams to implement mitigation strategies. - Crane & Heavy Equipment Safety Oversight:
- Oversee crane setup, operation, and movement
- Review lift plans and load calculations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and NCCCO standards
- Coordinate with rigging teams, signal persons, and operators
- Safety Performance Monitoring:
Establish safety metrics, track performance, and report findings to senior leadership. - PPE & Safety Gear:
Ensure availability and proper use of PPE on all jobsites. - Lockout/Tagout (LOTO):
Enforce proper energy control procedures.
- Minimum Experience (one required):
- 5+ years of safety management experience in data center construction, OR
- 3+ years of safety management experience in data center construction plus hands-on crane safety, rigging operations, and lift planning experience
- Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of OSHA, NFPA, and industry safety standards
- Proven leadership, communication, and training capabilities
- Excellent incident investigation and report-writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage jobsite incidents
- Crane & Rigging Safety Experience
- OSHA 1926 Subpart CC (Cranes & Derricks in Construction)
- Critical lift coordination
- Load charts, wind restrictions, and operator certifications
- Rigging plans and signal person requirements
- Certifications (Highly Preferred)
- OSHA 510 (minimum requirement)
- OSHA 500 (Construction Trainer)
- CSP or CHST
- NCCCO Rigging & Signal Person
- NFPA 70E Certification
- Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
- Mechanical contractor safety management experience
- Electrical contractor safety management experience
- Additional Requirements
- Ability to work onsite five days per week
- Frequent jobsite visits required
- Strong analytical skills and proactive risk mitigation mindset
