We are seeking ministry‑mindful individuals to join our After School team. The After School Program Mentor’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after‑school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. We want a Mentor who is devoted to excellence, wholeheartedness, and helping kids reach their full potential. This non‑exempt, part‑time position averages 17‑20 hours per week.
At Mentoring Alliance After School we hire teachers, youth workers, teen workers, college students, mentors, and more to serve and develop kids in our programs. As a Christian ministry we are geared toward serving kids and students in our community by offering outstanding after‑school care and activities.
Mentoring Alliance exists to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, to provide tangible help and eternal hope. Our team members must have the desire to influence, impact, and serve the kids and families in our community. Each and every staff position is an integral part of our mission and vision. We consider an After School Program Mentor to be first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities
- Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith.
- Must be at least 17 years of age; high school diploma or G.E.D. preferred, with some post‑secondary training highly preferred.
- Passionate and loving toward working with elementary‑school‑aged children.
- Experience working with elementary‑school‑aged children is preferred.
- Able to work Monday‑Friday 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
- Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory).
- Pass Mandatory Background/Sex Offender check.
- Valid driver’s license or valid .
- Legally allowed to work in the United States.
- Dependable transportation.
- Spanish‑speaking ability greatly valued.
