Job Summary

NAES is seeking Plant Operators to support daily operations at a simple-cycle aero-derivative generation site powering a high-density data center. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting LM/TM-class gas turbines and all associated auxiliary systems, including fuel gas, lube oil, inlet/exhaust, cooling, and balance-of-plant equipment. The Plant Operator performs routine rounds, responds to turbine alarms and trips, performs field resets, and communicates directly with the control center to maintain safe, reliable, and stable power output.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor simple-cycle aero-derivative gas turbines and associated auxiliary systems.
  • Conduct routine field rounds, inspect equipment, record operating data, and identify abnormal conditions.
  • Respond to alarms, equipment trips, and operational upsets; perform local resets and field troubleshooting.
  • Support turbine starts, stops, and loading changes in coordination with the control center.
  • Monitor and adjust auxiliary systems such as fuel gas, lube oil, cooling air, and ventilation equipment.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks including valve adjustments, filter changes, and minor equipment checks.
  • Execute LOTO procedures and follow all site safety and operational protocols.
  • Maintain accurate logs, shift notes, and operational reports.
  • Coordinate with I&C and mechanical technicians to resolve equipment issues.
  • Support plant reliability, safety, and environmental compliance during all operations.
Job Requirements
  • Experience operating aero-derivative or industrial gas turbines; LM2500 experience preferred.
  • Understanding of turbine auxiliary systems including fuel gas, lube oil, bleed air, and ventilation.
  • Ability to respond to alarms, equipment trips, and abnormal operating conditions.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with LOTO and safe operating practices.
Education / Experience
  • High School diploma required.
  • 5+ years experience in a power generation gas turbine plant, using LM2500 or LM6000 equipment.
