Wind Turbine Technician, Plant

Tetra Tech is seeking Wind Turbine Technicians to join their Gemini Energy Services team in Abilene, Texas. These technicians will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of wind turbines, including troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical components. The ideal candidates are safety-focused, mechanically and electrically skilled, and able to travel up to 50% within Texas. • Proof of Wind Technician Certification from an accredited Wind Academy or equivalent Trade School (if entry-level)
• Ability to travel for in-state site work, training, and company functions up to 50%
• Excellent electrical and mechanical skills
• Knowledge of turbine-related machinery and tools, including design, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Knowledge of circuit boards, electronic equipment, computer hardware and software
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, work instructions, and manuals
• Capable of lifting 40-100 lbs, bending, twisting, and lifting items overhead
• Capable of climbing wind towers up to 400 ft in height up to three times daily
• Fluent English verbal and written communication skills
• Current valid driver’s license and fit-to-drive record
• Ability to pass a criminal background check (if required)
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical (if needed)

• Experience with turbine technology and/or being up-tower on platforms, including Solar/Off-shore experience
• Willingness to learn and progress into roles such as troubleshooting, commissioning, or lead technician
