Description:
The Natura Resources team is seeking an experienced Senior Nuclear Engineer with a strong nuclear engineering background. The Nuclear Systems team collaborates with other disciplines in the Natura organization (chemistry, operations, licensing, mechanical) and with outside partners. Applicants will review CAD models, drawings, specifications, PFDs, P&IDs, and other engineering deliverables to provide technically informed, reliable feedback in a timely fashion. Applicants will collaborate with the operations team to develop operating procedures.
Applicants will assist in the development of the technical specifications. Applicants are expected to regularly contribute to licensing activities, including the authorship and review of portions of the licensing documentation as well as represent Natura to the regulator during audits, if required.
A well-qualified individual for this position will be able to work alongside the highly motivated team in the Natura Resources Research Alliance as well as our engineering, licensing, and fabrication partners.

Basic Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of the detailed design of Natura's molten salt reactor systems.
- Lead the development of the reactor modules
- Review CAD models, drawings and specifications generated by engineering and fabrication partners
- Assist in the development of design requirements for the reactor systems with other team members
- Review process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams for the reactor systems
- Participate in the development of licensing documentation for reactor systems
- Participate in the development of operating procedures and technical specifications
- Participate in the development of project schedule, scope and budget planning
- Provide leadership, guidance and instruction of nuclear engineering practice, mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers
- Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines
- Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of nuclear engineering design or operations experience
- Knowledge of standard nuclear engineering techniques and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with leading large projects and delegating work tasks to team members
- Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Ability to travel
Professional Development Requirements
- Experience with engineering codes, processes, and practices
- Experience with reactor licensure, preferably with the US NRC
- Moderate travel is likely - locations will vary and overnight travel will be necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in an office environment.
Must have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Lifting may be required but not exceed 40 pounds. - Extended work hours may be required.
- The ability to handle high volume and high-speed demands and the stress associated.
