The Operations Training Specialist serves as a subject matter expert responsible for developing and delivering innovative nuclear power plant training programs to operations personnel and other facility staff for the ACU Molten Salt Research Reactor and other plant designs being developed. This position combines advanced technical expertise with instructional leadership to ensure training excellence that directly supports safe, reliable plant operations for the nation’s first liquid-fueled molten salt reactor.

The Operations Training Specialist will report to the Operations Training Lead and the Director of Reactor Operations, and play a pivotal role in supporting Natura’s mission to deliver innovative nuclear solutions.

Summary:

The Natura Resources team is seeking a highly experienced Operations Training Specialist to contribute to a multi-disciplinary team in developing and maintaining an operations training program for our liquid-fueled molten salt reactor technology. This role will drive operational excellence, ensure nuclear safety, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and regulatory compliance, aligning with Natura’s mission to advance cutting‑edge reactor technology.

This Operations Training Specialist will also participate in a variety of engineering and licensing discussions as needed, while dedicating the majority of their efforts to operations training related responsibilities.

I. Basic Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the operator training program for MSR-1 and MSR-100 customers, ensuring compliance with nuclear regulatory standards and consistent with the principles of the Systems Approach to Training of 10 CFR 55.4.
• Participate in the delivery of training to the initial license class at the ACU Molten Salt Research Reactor (MSRR), including administration of written and oral examinations. Interact as needed with staff at U.S. Department of Energy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission to develop the pathway for licensing the initial class of operators for the MSRR.
• As needed, contribute to the other Natura teams in the development of MSR-1 and MSR-100 systems, leveraging technical expertise in engineering, licensing, security, and emergency planning.
• Coordinate with engineering and fabrication partners to review technical documents, including procedures, training materials, and system specifications.
• Promote a safety-conscious work environment, ensuring compliance with company, site, and regulatory safety policies.
• Represent Natura Resources in industry organizations and external communications, maintaining expert-level knowledge of nuclear operations training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

II. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, nuclear engineering, or a related field. In lieu of degree must have HS Diploma/GED with 5+ years of nuclear operations experience.
