Data Center Commissioning Project Manager (Lead Mechanical) – Full Time, Remote/Travel.

Base salary $135K to $165K (Total compensation $160K to $190K).

Role:
This position focuses on building engineering, specifically mechanical commissioning and facility operations for data center projects. The successful candidate will manage large MEP system projects, including design, commissioning, retrocommissioning, energy modeling/analysis, and construction for complex buildings. They will conduct construction observations, review contract documents, develop functional test plans, execute tests for mechanical and controls systems, conduct retro‑commissioning engineering/energy studies, and contribute to design and energy projects.

The engineer will also manage small to large data center projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
• At least 4 years of specific data center commissioning experience (electricity/mechanical).
• Project management experience – scheduling, coordination with staff & contractors, verifying field quality, accountability.
• Technical mechanical expertise.
• Available to be on‑site ~60‑70% of time.
• Experience managing staff.
• Experience diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
• Experience managing design/energy services commissioning project resources to pre‑determined scope, fee, and schedule.
• Knowledge of building codes, construction industry standards such as ASHRAE, LEED.
• Effective leadership and written/verbal communication skills.

• Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Building Commissioning Practitioner (CBCP), Building Commissioning Practitioner (BCxP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Commercial Builder (CCP), or other certifications.
