POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and updating project schedules to ensure alignment with general contractor (GC) timelines and overall project objectives. This role focuses on supporting MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) scopes of work and requires expert-level proficiency with Primavera P6. The Scheduler partners closely with project management and field teams to provide manpower projections, impact analyses, progress updates, and client-facing schedule reports.

What you’ll do:
  • Preconstruction Analysis and Planning

    • Analyze bid day schedules to assess feasibility and identify potential risks.

    • Prepare interview presentation schedules when necessary.

  • Baseline Schedule Development

    • Build detailed CPM logic schedules with input from Project Management and Supervision teams.

    • Establish a baseline schedule using the GC’s contract schedule as a foundation.

    • Ensure MEP scopes are accurately integrated and logically tied to the GC schedule.

    • Create detailed activities, define sequencing, and consolidate manhour breakdowns for resource loading.

  • Schedule Updates and Maintenance

    • Perform periodic schedule updates (weekly, monthly, or as needed).

    • Update percent completes, note logic changes with accompanying narratives, and track impacts and opportunities.

    • Provide “look-ahead” schedules for near-term planning.

    • Maintain and communicate updated manpower projections.

  • Progress Tracking and Reporting

    • Generate "Planned vs. Earned" progress reports to track project health.

    • Analyze GC schedule updates to ensure continued alignment with internal schedules.

    • Prepare and deliver narratives and variance reports for client meetings.

  • Support and Coordination

    • Assist Project Managers in performing schedule impact studies (e.g., delay analysis, resequencing).

    • Conduct periodic jobsite visits to validate schedule progress and gather field data when requested.

    • Perform additional assignments to support project goals and client satisfaction.

What you’ll need to be successful:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical scheduling information.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability and motivation to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems.

  • Professional, diplomatic, and solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

What you bring to the table:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science, or a related field — OR — equivalent technical training combined with related construction scheduling experience.

  • 2+ years of construction experience preferred, ideally with exposure to MEP trades and large commercial projects.

  • Prior experience scheduling MEP scopes in a construction environment is highly desirable.

  • Must obtain OSHA 30-hour certification within six (6) months of hire.

  • Employment is contingent upon meeting all jobsite-specific access requirements, with no outstanding restrictions from General Contractors, Owners, or Customers.
