Position OverviewWe are seeking a QC Inspector – Electrical to perform inspections, documentation and verification of electrical installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings and applicable standards. The role involves inspecting power distribution, grounding, lighting and low‑voltage systems
, coordinating with the QC Engineer and maintaining quality‑control documentation for all electrical works.
This position reports directly to the QC Engineer and works closely with Trade Team Leads, subcontractors and the client’s QA/QC representatives to ensure that all electrical works are executed in line with approved procedures and codes.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and verify medium‑voltage (MV) and low‑voltage (LV) electrical installations including conduits, duct banks, cabling, terminations, grounding/bonding, panels and switch gear.
- Review shop drawings, IFC drawings and material submittals to ensure consistency with approved design and specifications.
- Verify that installations conform to NEC (NFPA 70),

, IEEE and applicable Texas local code amendments
. - Ensure use of UL‑listed equipment and materials in compliance with the project’s quality and safety standards.
- Conduct and witness electrical tests such as continuity, insulation resistance, megger, polarity and grounding resistance tests
. - Monitor implementation of Quality Plans, ITPs, MMRs and IRs and ensure documentation is properly maintained and traceable.
- Identify non‑conformances, prepare NCRs and track corrective actions to closure with relevant trade teams.
- Participate in commissioning and pre‑functional testing activities, verifying proper energisation procedures and test results.
- Attend daily coordination ( “flex and stretch” ) meetings with GC and trade partners to plan inspections and resolve quality‑related issues.
- Maintain detailed daily inspection reports, photographs and quality checklists.
- Enforce adherence to OSHA 29 CFR 1926 electrical safety regulations and project‑specific LOTO procedures.

- ICC/IBC (as adopted by Texas jurisdictions)
- Local Texas amendments and enforcement practices
- Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or Construction.
- 3–7 years of electrical inspection or quality‑control experience on large commercial, industrial or data‑center projects.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC/NFPA codes
, NETA testing procedures and electrical inspection practices
. - Ability to interpret technical drawings, single‑line diagrams and test data sheets.
- Experience in inspection documentation (ITPs, IRs, NCRs and test records).
- Proficiency in MS Office
. - Excellent communication and reporting skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a multi‑discipline QC team.
- Physically fit for field inspection duties, including work in confined spaces or elevated locations.
- NICET, ISO 9001, or ICC Electrical Inspector certification.
- Experience in Texas electrical code enforcement or AHJ coordination
. - Familiarity with commissioning, pre‑energisation and integrated testing
. - Skilled in electrical test instruments (megger, ground‑resistance tester, thermal imager).
- Reports directly to the QC Engineer and functionally supports the Electrical Trade Team Lead
. - Authorized to issue Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and verify corrective measures.
- Coordinates with subcontractor foremen and client inspectors to close inspection‑related items efficiently.
