Position OverviewAs a Senior Commissioning & Startup Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the safe, efficient, and successful startup of complex industrial and mission‑critical facilities. This position is responsible for supporting electrical commissioning, testing, energization, validation, startup, turnover, and operational readiness activities across major construction projects throughout North America.
Working closely with engineering, construction, vendors, operations, and commissioning leadership, you will help develop and execute commissioning strategies, review electrical testing programs, troubleshoot complex electrical issues, and ensure systems are tested, documented, and turned over safely and effectively.
This position may support projects remotely from a Kiewit office location or directly from project sites depending on project needs and business requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong electrical engineering fundamentals with hands‑on commissioning and startup experience involving critical electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities- Support the planning and execution of electrical pre‑commissioning, commissioning, startup, testing, turnover, and operational readiness activities.
- Develop, review, and execute commissioning procedures, startup plans, energization plans, test scripts, and turnover documentation.
- Lead electrical testing activities including Factory Witness Testing (FWT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Functional Performance Testing (FPT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
