Position: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT-HOSPICE

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT-HOSPICE (Project Management)

Performs tasks and administrative functions outlined herein or as directed by the Director of Hospice.

Responsibilities
  • Distributes memos, letters, etc.
  • Filing, typing, and data entry duties
  • Assists Director of Hospice in maintaining inventory control procedures to ensure that office materials are inventoried, controlled, and ordered so that there are no administrative support interruptions and to prevent fraud, waste, or abuse.
  • Controls expenses not to exceed the budget.
  • Assists Director of Hospice with maintaining his/her schedule.
  • Schedules and arranges necessary meetings.
  • Maintains files as required.
  • Assists with billing Medicaid/Medicare and other insurances.
  • Researches all errors on Medicaid suspense and error reports and ensures that all patients with Medicaid are accounted for and reports information to the Director.
  • Works well with nursing home Medicaid billing staff to ensure a good working relationship.
  • Works with patient accounting on all Medicare/Medicaid issues.
  • Adheres to deadlines.
  • Keeps others adequately informed as needed.
  • Exhibits good listening and comprehension.
  • Uses negotiation skills to resolve conflicts.
  • Maintains effective professional relationships.
  • Treats patients, families and staff with respect and compassion.
  • Respects confidentiality.
  • Deals effectively with difficult situations.
  • No gossip, does not harm others in conversation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • EMR check for visit log accuracy.
Requirements
  • This position requires endurance to perform tasks over long periods of work hours and the ability to perform essential functions without posing a "direct threat" in the workplace.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
