REQIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing, psychology, social work, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or a related human services filed AND at least 1 year experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities.

A general overview of responsibilities of a QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional) are as follows:

• Review and follow up on progress notes and behavior reports
• In-service preparation and follow up ensuring all in-services are signed and returned
• Collecting monthly data from each assigned home and compiling data into spreadsheet
• Quarterly meeting preparation and follow ups
• Preparations for staffing's
• Communicates effectively with family members
• Completes survey prep and is knowledgeable of what homes are due for survey
• Other duties as assigned

Our newest QIDP will have extensive hands on training by our Program Director and tenured QIDP. The training will be ongoing due to the nature of our business and resources will always be available if additional assistance is needed.

Prior to working alone with our folks, new hires complete 6 Modules of Mental Health Wellness for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (MHW-IDD) and 12-Minute Trainer Modules (including Abuse & Neglect, HIPAA, Detecting Depression, & Resident Rights). The computer training modules typically take 8-12 hours depending on the speed at which you work.

CPR Certification class will be scheduled for new hires who are not currently CPR certified and must be completed before working alone. There will be a minimum of 3 days of scheduled training with a fully trained staff member and additional training available if needed. New hires will additionally attend a Medication Class that is taught by our team of Registered Nurses and must be passed off on medications by their 30 th day of employment.
