Job Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients under the supervision of a physician or mid‑level provider. The LVN assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care and serves as the primary liaison among patients, staff, and physicians.

• Completion of a Vocational Nursing Program or an Associate’s Degree in Nursing

• One-year licensed vocational nurse experience

• Current state vocational nurse license
• Current CPR certificate

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
• Familiarity with health‑care systems, regulations, policies, and documentation standards
• Understanding of equipment, supplies, and basic laboratory procedures, including preparation and screening
• Knowledge of infectious disease management and safety standards
• Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality
• Competence in medical chart reporting/records
• Knowledge of medication and pharmacological agents used in a clinic setting
• Understanding of management and organizational theory for supervising staff, including employee development and delegation
• Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff
• Calm and effective response in emergency situations
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with patients, families, staff, and others
• Flexibility to respond to changing demands
• Organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and direct the work of others
• Clear communication skills
