Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

  Travel Registered Nurse – 13-week contract
• Unit:
  Labor & Delivery Recovery Room
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Start Date:
  
  September 15, 2025
• End Date:
  December 15, 2025
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1910–$2040
• Weekend Requirement: 13 weekend shifts expected per contract

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required; 3 years preferred
• Experience with triage and circulating C-sections required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications required
• Willingness to float to other campuses or units as needed
• Must reside at least 150 miles from Abilene, TX facility
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Experience with Allscripts or Altera electronic charting preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care to laboring mothers and newborns, including triage and circulating for C-sections
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, antepartum, postpartum, and recovery care
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform newborn assessments
• Educate and support patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory, radiology, social services)
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health record systems
• Float to other units or campuses as needed to support patient care
