The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient care using the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes. The RN interacts effectively with patients and families, maintains professional standards, and provides individualized care using evidence-based nursing principles.

In the Emergency Department (ED), the RN cares for patients across all ages and acuity levels, managing a diverse range of conditions in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment. Continuous prioritization of patient care is essential to ensure safety and efficiency.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma or Associate Degree)
• Experience: No prior experience required
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse – Active TX RN license (or compact)
  • BLS CPR – Required
  • ACLS – Prior to completion of orientation
  • ENPC and/or PALS – Prior to completion of orientation
  • TNCC – Within 18 months of hire
  • NIHSS – Prior to completion of orientation
• Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong self-initiative and ability to contribute to ED throughput
  • Sense of urgency with commitment to safe and effective care
  • High adaptability to changing patient conditions and volume
  • Maintains professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
