NP​/PA​/CNM Maternal Fetal Medicine Abilene, TX

The MFM Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant functions in a collaborative practice with physician(s) in the outpatient setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Develops and maintains own volume of patients under the supervision of a physician. Provides practice/clinic coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, including prescriptive authority.

• Full-time schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
• Primary Care or Womens Health Experience highly preferred.
• BLS certification required, ACLS certification preferred, but not required.

• Masters Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or 2 years' experience as an FNP in a primary care setting strongly preferred.

• Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred.
• Minimum of two years Pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience OR 2 years' experience in related allied health field (i.e. family practice setting with heavy component of pediatric patients) strongly preferred.

• Current Texas professional registered nurse license.
• Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license.
• Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
• Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner.
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.

• Current Texas professional physician assistant license.
• Recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant PA-C required.
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.

* PALS certification is required when assigned to Anesthesiology, Care Team, Complex Care, Fostering Health, H/O, and Neurology departments.
