Nurse Navigator – Total Joint Replacement, J8 Orthopedic – North
The nurse navigator will establish a collaborative team between the patient, family and practitioners by being available for the patient throughout the multiple stages of the pre-surgical to post-surgical processes. The navigator should be current in best practice and quality standards established by Joint Commission and National Nursing Orthopedic Organization. This individual will be expected to identify high risk patients and align resources as needed, to prepare the patient for successful surgery outcome.
Job RequirementsMinimum Education
- Graduate of Accredited School with minimum of BSN in Nursing
- Three (3) years in the Acute Hospital setting which includes one (1) year of Orthopedic experience
- Registered Nurse with current Texas/compact license
- CPR-BLS
- Orthopedic certification (or obtained within 2 years of meeting requirements)
- Input data into computer programs
- Organized
- Public relations skills
- Working knowledge of total joint program standards
- No
- 1 - High Risk
