American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a TX or compact license for a general ICU setting supporting surgical, medical, CVICU, and neuro ICU patient populations.

• General Intensive Care Unit with a mix of surgical, medical, CVICU, and neuro ICU patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• May be required to float to other campuses or units
• Altera charting experience preferred but not required

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) in hand required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent permanent ICU experience required (new grads with 1 year experience plus travel experience do not qualify)
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous sedation, and paralytics
• Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, and care of post-craniotomy/neurosurgery and TBI patients
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and Flo Trac/Vigileo devices
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and renal failure management

• Care for a diverse ICU population requiring advanced critical care interventions
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, which includes marijuana testing
• Must avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen
• Must live 150 miles or more from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Previous permanent staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a documented plan for timely completion
