Natura Resources is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Chemistry technician to support chemistry operations and research at our Molten Salt Reactor (MSR) facility. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of non-nuclear and future nuclear molten salt systems through precise chemical analysis, material testing, sample handling, and data collection in a high-temperature, radio logically controlled environment.

About Natura Resources LLC

Natura Resources is committed to answering the world's increased demand for reliable energy, medical isotopes, and clean water by developing commercially deployable liquid-fueled molten salt reactors.

Description

As a Chemistry technician, you will work with molten fluoride salts and contribute to the safe, efficient, and innovative development of next-generation molten salt systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical analysis of molten and quenched salt samples using techniques such as ICP-MS, IGF, spectroscopy, and electrochemical methods.
  • Collect, prepare, and handle high-temperature molten salt samples under chemical safety protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory instrumentation, glove boxes, and analytical equipment used for research, including routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of lab equipment.
  • Support material compatibility and corrosion testing on alloys and components exposed to molten salts.
  • Record, analyze, and report experimental data with high accuracy, maintaining detailed laboratory notebooks and digital databases compliant with nuclear quality assurance standards.
  • Assist in the development and execution of experimental procedures for routine handling, salt purification, fission product removal, and waste form characterization.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all chemical hygiene, radiation protection (ALARA), and environmental regulations (NRC, DOE, OSHA).
  • Collaborate with engineers and chemists to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.

Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (preferred). Equivalent military or nuclear industry experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience, preferably in radiochemistry, high-temperature chemistry, or molten salts.
  • Familiarity with inert atmosphere glovebox operations and high-temperature systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques (ICP-MS, IGF, GC-MS, Raman, FTIR, etc) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of safety, hazardous material handling, and PPE usage in controlled environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
