Backroom Associate

Position Summary

This role is a freight and receiving associate position located at 5550 S. Clack St, Abilene, TX . The base pay range is $18.00/hr – $25.00/hr responsibilities include maintaining and processing shipments, managing receiving tasks, tracking claims, ensuring safety, and complying with company policies and procedures.

• Develop and post delivery schedules, compile and organize receiving reports, verify merchandise counts, route merchandise to proper locations, and process payment of expenses.
• Receive merchandise for the facility, maintain the receiving area by following company procedures, use equipment appropriately, perform merchandising, and complete required documentation.
• Track and process claims by returning damaged goods, handling liquidation merchandise, maintaining and cleaning the clearance area, and using technology to capture required reporting and documentation.
• Maintain safety of the facility by following all safety standards, procedures, and guidelines; conduct safety sweeps; follow forklift spotting and hazardous‑materials handling procedures; follow steel‑standard guidelines; and report unsafe situations to facility management.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethics standards by implementing action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in business processes.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; execute tasks; communicate progress; and recommend improvements.

The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 to $25.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation may be paid in the form of premiums ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.

• Forklift certification or will obtain forklift certification within 30 days of job entry date.
