This job is located at a Data Center in Abilene, TX. Per diem and/or travel will be paid.

- Install and connect devices in server racks using copper, power, and fiber while following structured cabling best practices.
- Transport, unload, and position server racks throughout the hyperscale data center according to specific procedures.
- Perform Smart Hands work, including fiber and copper patching, troubleshooting, testing, and routing cables while climbing ladders as needed.
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, termination, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, NEC, and local regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining professionalism and strong communication skills to resolve technical issues and provide solutions.
- Ensure high-quality, organized, and professional workmanship on all installations to meet project specifications and exceed customer expectations.
- Travel to job sites anywhere within your state, may also be required to travel within the USA.
- Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50-pound box or ladder.
- Must own low voltage tools (snips, strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches).
- Ability to follow directions in a repetitive task for a long duration.
- Able to work 2nd/3rd shift, overtime, and under pressure.
- Must pass a 7-year background check, drug screen, and physical.
- Requires valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
- Data center experience preferred.
Technical Level
- All above Tech 1 requirements plus a minimum 1 year of hyperscale data center low voltage installation experience.
- Install devices and cabling into empty server racks using copper, power, fiber and other connection types with limited supervision.
- Patch in fiber and copper cables from network racks to servers with limited supervision.
- Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with limited supervision.
- Can install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables proficiently.
- Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with supervision.
Senior Level
- All above Tech 2 requirements plus a minimum 2 years of hyperscale data center low voltage installation experience.
- Install devices and cabling into empty server racks using copper, power, fiber and other connection types with no supervision.
- Patch in fiber and copper cables from network racks to servers with no supervision.
- Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with no supervision.
