Transportation - Field Trip Coordinator position at Abilene ISD.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be willing to obtain a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements within a specified timeframe after hire.
- Support board and administrative policies and decisions.
- Maintain a professional work environment through positive attitude, punctuality, regular attendance, phone etiquette, and personal appearance.
- Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills.
- Use personal computer and software for field trip scheduling, develop spreadsheets and databases, and perform word processing.
- Read and understand documents including policies and procedures manuals.
- Receive and give written and verbal instructions.
- Operate school bus.
- Pass alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam.
- May be required to work weekends and evenings when needed.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of computer and software.
- Good organizational skills.
- Coordinate and schedule contracted services to meet field trip program needs and district rental trucks; prepare billing paperwork.
- Maintain and manage field trip planning software program.
- Train transportation employees, campus sponsors, and administrators in the use of district’s field trip planning software.
- Develop and conduct training for drivers and attendants on field trip procedures and paperwork.
- Establish and maintain rapport and working relationships with transportation staff, campus personnel, and outside contractors.
- Compile, maintain, and file physical and electronic reports, records, and other required documents such as monthly field trip billing reports.
- Assist director and assistant director in development, evaluation, and enforcement of transportation policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Serve as a substitute driver/monitor as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality.
