Role Description This full-time, on-site Class A CDL role is based in Abilene, TX. The driver will safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from construction and project sites. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing and unloading cargo, following all DOT and company safety regulations, and maintaining accurate logs and delivery records.
The role may involve coordinating with project managers and site supervisors, adhering to delivery schedules, and supporting basic equipment or vehicle upkeep. The position requires reliability, attention to safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced field environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license and a clean driving record; ability to meet all DOT requirements.
- Experience operating commercial trucks and related equipment, including safe loading, securing, and unloading of materials.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service rules, and defensive driving practices.
- Ability to perform thorough vehicle inspections and report or address basic maintenance needs.
- Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills to coordinate with dispatch and job site personnel.
- Physical ability to handle materials, climb in and out of vehicles, and work in outdoor construction environments.
- Reliability, professionalism, and commitment to safety and quality on every trip.
- Prior experience in construction, transportation, or related fields is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.
