the Job

As a Building and Construction Works Supervisor
, you'll play a key role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of construction projects across UKAEA. Working within the Integrated Engineering Division, you'll coordinate and oversee building and construction activities, ensuring temporary works are planned, managed and delivered in line with industry best practice, regulatory requirements and UKAEA's high safety standards. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to support the successful delivery of complex engineering and construction programmes.

You'll Be Doing
  • Coordinate and supervise building and construction works, ensuring activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Plan, manage and coordinate temporary works throughout the pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Provide technical advice and support to project teams, identifying and managing construction risks and resolving technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 Regulations, UKAEA governance requirements and industry best practice.
  • Review temporary works designs and coordinate their safe implementation on site.
  • Work closely with contractors, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
  • Support the Construction Management team by monitoring progress, identifying improvements and contributing to successful project delivery.
  • Promote UKAEA's safety-first culture and ensure all construction activities are delivered to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
What You'll Bring
  • A degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification, together with significant experience in construction or civil engineering.
  • Experience supervising building or construction works within a regulated environment.
  • A valid CSCS card and SMSTS certification (or equivalent).
  • Building and Construction Works Supervisor (or Temporary Works Supervisor) certification, with experience coordinating temporary works.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations
    , construction health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and make sound professional judgements.
  • Desirable: experience of lifting operations (LOLER), IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent, and working on complex engineering or infrastructure projects.

UKAEA is an onsite organisation, and this role requires regular onsite presence (usually between 3-5 days in any given week) in line with business needs. We actively support flexible working arrangements where this is compatible with the role
