Key Responsibilities- Lead the Engineering Analysis Team within the Product Engineering Analysis Group, delivering expert technical guidance across UKAEA.
- Oversee complex engineering activities from concept through to delivery, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Manage and develop a high‑performing team, resolve key technical challenges, and collaborate with internal and external partners to drive innovation.
- Manage analysis and simulation activities across projects and work packages, ensuring technical delivery and compliance with relevant standards.
- Develop and execute technical plans, ensuring validation and successful project outcomes.
- Manage performance, training, recruitment, and resource planning, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to organisational processes.
- A relevant engineering master’s degree or equivalent level gained through experience.
- Attained chartered status with a relevant professional institution or with qualifications and experience sufficient to attain it within a year of appointment.
- Expertise in the application of simulation and analysis within at least one area of physics, with broader competence across other areas, and experience working to design‑by‑analysis standards (e.g. ASME VIII or PD5500).
- Experience defining and planning technical work packages and supervising staff in their execution.
- Good communication and technical skills with the ability to persuade and convince others in technical discussions.
- Experience with fusion‑relevant environmental factors such as radiation, vacuum and transient magnetic fields.
