The Role – Senior Design Engineer Leading the design and development of hydraulic systems and steel-fabricated structures for agricultural machinery and equipment Producing detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation Carrying out engineering calculations, validation activities, and hydraulic system sizing Supporting prototype builds, testing, and product validation programmes Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, durability, and manufacturability Working closely with production teams to ensure a smooth transition from design through to manufacture Investigating and resolving technical issues from production, service, and customer feedback Liaising with suppliers regarding technical specifications, components, and quality standards Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering, safety, and regulatory standards Providing technical support and mentorship to junior engineers where required What our client is looking for in a successful Senior Design Engineer Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline ESSENTIAL Significant experience in a senior design engineering role ESSENTIAL Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and circuit design ESSENTIAL Experience designing steel fabrications and weldments ESSENTIAL Proficiency in 3D CAD software, ideally Solid Works ESSENTIAL Good understanding of fabrication and machining manufacturing processes ESSENTIAL Knowledge of electronics and control systems, including sensors and CAN-based systems DESIRABLE Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on engineering approach ESSENTIAL Key Skills or Similar Job Titles to the Senior Design Engineer position:
