Overview
We have an opportunity for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist to join our friendly psychology team within Getting More Help Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Abingdon on a full‑time basis for 12 months. The team works integratively, focusing on the context of the young person and offering a blend of generic and specialist assessments, protected caseloads and a collaborative, research‑led environment.
The role is part of an experienced multidisciplinary team that values professional development and staff wellbeing.
- Offer psychology assessments and consultations to CAMHS clinicians and multi‑agency services.
- Deliver psychological interventions using a range of models through 1:1 sessions, group programmes and joint parent and young person work. Opportunities include CBT, Third Wave CBT, DNA‑V, Narrative Exposure Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy.
- Deliver clinical supervision and support psychology trainees (CBT trainees and trainee clinical psychologists).
- Participate in group interventions, such as a CBT for OCD group, trauma‑focused groups, parent groups and a DNA‑V group.
- Serve on the duty rota, supporting the duty provision and staff wellbeing activities.
- Develop clinical practice in systemic work, family therapy clinics and reflective team practice.
- Get involved in service evaluation and research projects, including developing a trauma‑informed offer and responsive interventions.
Qualified clinical/counselling psychologist or CBT therapist, or those shortly due to complete training.
