Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator
Radley College is looking to appoint an IT Systems Engineer to join our IT Team. The team of seven look after a user base of 1,300 over an 800-acre site.
Technology is fundamental to the day-to-day life of Radley College, supporting teaching, learning and the operation of one of the country's leading independent boarding schools. We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer to play a key role in the management, development and continual improvement of the College's core technology platforms, with a particular focus on Microsoft 365, identity services and cloud technologies.
Working within a collaborative IT team of seven and reporting to the Head of IT Services, you will take ownership of a range of business-critical systems and services, ensuring they remain secure, reliable and aligned with the needs of the College. You will work closely with colleagues across IT and the wider organisation, helping to deliver a technology environment that enables staff and pupils to thrive.
This role will suit a technically capable and intellectually curious professional who enjoys understanding how systems fit together and finding better ways of working. You will be comfortable taking responsibility for key platforms, leading on technical problem-solving and identifying opportunities to improve performance, security, automation and user experience. From Microsoft 365 and Entra to cloud services, device management and automation, you will help shape and support the technologies that underpin the College's operations.
We are looking for someone with strong technical expertise alongside the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels. You will be able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical advice, build productive relationships with both technical and non-technical users, and take a thoughtful, service-oriented approach to your work. Whilst this is a highly technical role, success will depend equally on collaboration, judgement and the ability to work effectively within a small and supportive team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced systems administrator or infrastructure engineer who enjoys genuine ownership, values professional autonomy and wants to contribute to a community where technology has a visible and meaningful impact. If you have strong Microsoft 365 and cloud administration skills, a passion for continuous improvement and a desire to work in a varied and rewarding environment, we would be delighted to hear from you.
