Syntech Recruitment are partnering with a highly regarded precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator.
CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator Responsibilities- Program, set and operate CNC milling machines safely and efficiently
- Produce precision-machined components from engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Programme and machine complex parts on 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines
- Create setup sheets and tooling documentation to ensure repeatable manufacturing processes
- Carry out online programming using Heidenhain controls
- Inspect and verify own work using a range of measuring equipment
- Manufacture components to tight tolerances, typically around 20 microns
- Machine large-scale components up to approximately 2.5 metres in size
- Support colleagues through knowledge sharing and training where required
- Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
- Ensure quality standards are achieved through a right-first-time approach
- Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
- Strong Heidenhain control experience is essential
- Experience with 3, 4 and 5-axis machining
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience producing components to tight tolerances
- Competent using measuring and inspection equipment
- Previous experience with Doosan, Matsuura or Mazak machinery advantageous
- Experience machining large components beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Positive attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Apprenticeship-trained engineer preferred but not essential
