Position:
Regional Training Nurse RN – Part Time
Company: National Health Care Corporation (NHC)
Location: Abingdon, VA
Pay: $75,000 – $85,000 per year (based on experience)
DescriptionThe Regional Training Nurse coordinates orientation and ongoing training for new and existing nurses, ensuring compliance with hospice care standards and regulatory requirements. This part‑time role involves developing training materials, managing schedules, and delivering education through virtual and in‑person sessions.
Qualifications- Registered Nurse license (current). Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Three years of patient care experience in hospice settings, with knowledge of electronic medical records.
- Preferred:
Two years teaching experience in a healthcare environment, including orientation of new nurses. - Demonstrated proficiency in adult education principles, instructional design, evaluation, and research.
- Strong computer literacy and Microsoft Teams proficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of hospice philosophy and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to travel within the region as needed for training sessions.
- Self‑directed work ethic with the ability to coordinate with team members.
- Adhere to the company mission, vision, and values and uphold compliance standards.
- Coordinate with the Program Coordinator Manager (PCM) to conduct orientation sessions per SOP.
- Manage training schedules and logistics to effectively onboard new nurses.
- Update training materials with current hospice care practices and regulations.
- Identify improvement opportunities in hospice care practices and training programs.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date orientation records in the Learning Management System.
- Monitor training completion reports and gather feedback from new nurses.
- Provide specialized knowledge and learning opportunities to ensure compliance with all procedures.
- Lead and mentor new nurses to enhance staff development and retention.
- Audit documentation post‑orientation to confirm compliance and provide additional education as needed.
- Complete at least one Admission and one Routine visit each quarter, documenting in the electronic medical record.
- Perform workflow assignments in EMR as required for offices without a PCM.
- Train new PCMs on workflow assignments.
- Conduct educational in‑services to clinical teams as needed.
- Attend annual Clinical LDI.
