American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a PA or compact RN license, BSN, and at least 2 years of L&D experience.
Requirements- Active PA or compact RN license required
- BSN required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Certifications required: NRP, ACLS, and BLS
- AWHONN Intermediate or Beginner certification required
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred due to high acuity and fast pace of the unit
- Experience with high-risk antepartum, high-risk delivery, C-section circulation, and hemorrhage/shock management
- Skilled in fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
- Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other L&D medication administration
- PA fingerprints and Childline clearance required within 12 months of start
- Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
- Labor and Delivery unit setting
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Patient ratio of 1-2
- No floating required
- Weekend requirement of every third weekend (Friday/Saturday nights)
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday coverage required for at least one of Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day
- Uses Epic charting system
- High acuity, fast-paced unit at a teaching hospital with 200-300+ births per month
- Provide direct patient care in a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit at a teaching hospital
- Assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, C-section recovery, and neonatal resuscitation in the delivery room
- Manage antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including fetal monitoring and medication administration
- Scrubs are provided
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius or accept local rate differential if closer
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no additional time off accepted after submission
- Pass/Fail clinical exam required prior to clearance, with a maximum of 3 attempts
