American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVICU RN with strong cardiac critical care and advanced device management skills for a high-acuity cardiovascular ICU.

• Cardiovascular ICU setting with 19 beds and an average daily census of approximately 15 patients
• Provides immediate post-operative open-heart surgery care and high-acuity cardiac critical care
• Common diagnoses include post-operative CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm/dissection, cardiogenic shock, acute MI, acute heart failure, respiratory failure and cardiac arrhythmias
• Also cares for patients requiring advanced mechanical circulatory support
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00a-7:30p
• Every third weekend required, approximately 4 weekend shifts per contract
• Floating to MICU or STU/NEU may be required based on facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Self-scheduling unit with no block scheduling option
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active PA RN license or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of strong CVICU experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• 12-lead EKG/ECG experience required
• CABG and post-cardiac surgery experience required
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention experience required
• Central venous pressure and Swan-Ganz/Pulmonary Artery Line monitoring experience required
• Epicardial pacing wire management experience required
• Impella and IABP experience required
• CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure management experience required
• Arterial line, central line, PICC and blood product administration experience required
• Continuous IV sedation, neuromuscular blockade, emergency medication and procedural sedation experience required
• Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration experience required
• BiPAP/CPAP, mechanical ventilation, HFNC, ABG interpretation and suctioning experience required
• Experience with ECMO circuits, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Impella, CRRT, mechanical ventilators, Swan-Ganz catheters, invasive arterial pressure monitoring, temporary pacemakers, infusion pumps and chest drainage systems required
• Epic charting experience required
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

• Approximately 36 hours of orientation provided
• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at a local differential rate
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• No pre-approved time off accommodated after submission
• PA fingerprint clearance required, which may involve travel and processing time
• Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance with a maximum of 3 attempts
