Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship e pay range: $16.50/hr - $20.00/hr this role focuses on patient-centric pharmacy care and customer interaction. Walgreens offers an earn while you learn Pharmacy Technician Training Program recognized by ASHP & Department of Labor, guiding you toward becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certified Pharmacy Technician and maintaining a high level of skill in the pharmacy care industry.

The program provides foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experiences to prepare you for certification.

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and related duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist with system operation and cashier responsibilities in the pharmacy.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting customers, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions.
• Engage in inventory management activities, process prescriptions, enter patient and drug information, check for interactions, and support workflow as directed by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, codes of conduct, and company policies; report prescription errors promptly.
• Handle cash register operations as required and assist customers in locating products; manage telecommunication with physicians when needed.
• Support administrative and clerical duties related to prescriptions, third-party claims, and general store operations.
• Assist with clinical services coordination, including collecting and labeling samples when required and coordinating with Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
• Assist with community relations and medical provider outreach to support growth opportunities for pharmacy services.
• Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked, clean, and orderly and support asset protection and inventory controls.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as directed by management.

• Basic Qualifications: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred Qualifications: Six months of experience in a retail environment; prior Walgreens experience; strong math, computer, and inventory control skills; PTCB certification preferred.
