The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Abu Dhabi. The Senior Accountant will oversee general ledger activities, prepare and review journal entries, and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting, as well as reviewing financial transactions for compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards.

The role involves preparing financial statements and management reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, analyzing variances, and providing financial insights to leadership. The Senior Accountant will coordinate with internal departments, external auditors, and regulatory bodies, assist in process improvements, and help maintain strong internal controls across the organization.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS standards. “Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Cost Control & Joint Venture Accounting: Monitor project expenditures, joint venture billings, and production cost allocations. “Manage end-to-end accounting activities for oil & gas trading operations, including revenue recognition, inventory, and cost allocations.
• Asset Management: Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and impairment for heavy infrastructure or upstream equipment.
• Compliance & Audits: Handle local tax filings (VAT and Corporate Tax) and coordinate internal or external audit requirements.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Certifications: Professional credentials such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are strongly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience, with at least 2 years focused directly on the oil and gas or energy sector.
