Accounting Specialist; Emirati National

About the Role

Our client, a leading banking institution in the region, is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their team. As an Accounting Specialist, you will report to the Finance and Regulatory Reporting function and support the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance activities. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, regulatory reporting experience, and analytical skills
, which will align successfully within the organization.

• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate accounting records, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Process and validate debit and credit accounting entries while supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare and update regulatory reports, including Banking Return Forms (BRFs) and other submissions required by the Central Bank.
• Support Basel-related reporting requirements and ensure adherence to applicable regulatory frameworks and guidelines.
• Analyze financial data, reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and provide recommendations for process improvements.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience within a Banking or Financial Services institution.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debit and credit accounting entries.
• Hands-on experience preparing and updating regulatory reports, particularly BRFs and other Central Bank reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with Basel regulations and related regulatory reporting frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
