Job description About Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation:
The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) was officially established in 2001, under the authority of the Dubai Government. There are a number of entities and institutions operating under its umbrella, including Port Rashid, Jebel Ali Port, Al Hamriya Port, which are managed by Dubai Ports Authority, in addition to the Department of Planning and Development - Trakhees, the Dubai Maritime Authority and the Office of the Marine Agency for Wooden Dhows, as well as the investment arm and security arm of the corporation, represented by Investment Department and Security Department.
ACCOUNTSPAYABLE AND FIXED ASSETS
- Prepare and process supplier invoices accurately and within established timelines, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and payment conditions.
- Record and process payments to suppliers and service providers in accordance with approved financial policies and procedures.
- Reconcile accounts payable ledgers against supplier statements, investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.
- Support the acquisition and capitalisation of fixed assets, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date fixed asset register, recording acquisitions, disposals, depreciation and other relevant adjustments.
- Implement and maintain appropriate asset tagging and inventory controls to ensure the effective tracking and safeguarding of fixed assets.
- Manage petty cash transactions, ensuring secure handling, accurate recording and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports relating to accounts payable and fixed assets, as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial policies, procedures, accounting requirements and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing the required documentation, records and explanations relating to accounts payable and fixed asset transactions.
- Perform financial approval responsibilities for RMS refunds, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures and approval protocols.
- Initiate and process refund requests through the RMS system in accordance with approved business requirements and applicable guidelines.
- Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries from the Customer Service team regarding refund-related matters, and support the timely resolution of outstanding cases.
Required (Minimum Experience): A minimum of two years’ experience in accounts payable or a related finance function.
Preferred: Experience in using ERP systems and financial software to support the efficient processing and management of accounts payable and fixed asset transactions.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONSRequired (Minimum Qualification): A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
Preferred: A recognised professional accounting qualification, such as CPA, CA, CIMA or ACCA, or an equivalent professional certification.
