Senior Account Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounts Assistant to support the finance and accounting operations of the institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial documentation, reconciliations, and UAE VAT compliance.

• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounting entries.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Process supplier invoices, payments, receipts, and expense claims.
• Perform bank, vendor, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
• Support budgeting, expense monitoring, and financial reporting activities.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices, receipts, and other financial records.
• Assist with VAT calculations, return preparation, and compliance with UAE VAT regulations.
• Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, students, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters, as applicable.
• Support internal and external audits by providing the required documents and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with institutional financial policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CMA, or equivalent are an advantage.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Experience in educational institutions or service-oriented organizations is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, UAE VAT, and financial procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software or ERP systems.
