Overview of the Role
The Service Advisor is responsible for managing customer interactions at the Bodyshop, ensuring a high level of service quality and customer satisfaction. This involves preparing service estimates, advising customers on necessary vehicle repairs, and coordinating with technicians to perform the work. The role focuses on maintaining compliance with company policies and health and safety standards, fostering customer retention, and achieving profitability.
Success in this role requires technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team while adhering to established procedures and standards.
- Ensure courteous and professional handling of customers during visits to the Bodyshop.
- Prepare estimates to ensure customer retention and profitability.
- Execute assigned jobs according to established work standards, specifications, and required time.
- Maintain the discipline of the service establishment, ensuring a safe and clean reception area.
- Keep up with new technology, work procedures, time standards, and relevant technical know‐how.
- Meet and greet customers as per ALAC Standards, advising on necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Provide cost estimates and explain terms and conditions of repairs to customers.
- Prepare work orders and assign technicians to perform vehicle body repairs.
- Maintain electronic and/or paper records of completed service work.
- Inspect work completed by technicians before delivering the vehicle to the customer.
- Explain work completed, suggest future maintenance, and provide billing statements to customers.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by immediate superior or manager.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Comply with the ALAC Quality Management System and participate in organizational improvement activities.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, not endangering self or others, and complies with company health and safety standards.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English fluently.
- Knowledge of body parts and mechanical components related to repair.
- Understanding of service standards and adherence to safety regulations.
- Diploma or High School.
- 3 years of experience in a Customer Service role.
- Fluent in English with strong communication and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of body parts, general mechanical components, and car repair will be an advantage.
