Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Package Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to manage construction of a large Roads infrastructure upgrade project within Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a role-model for teams in terms of safety behaviours and values;
  • Ensure that package level construction management and/ or supervision of project works is undertaken;
  • Ensure that all package-level construction management complies with construction management processes and effectively implement them for the project;
  • Provide construction management input to the project works where appropriate, particularly advice regarding construction/ implementation/ constructability, and construction/ implementation reviews;
  • Undertake appropriate liaison with the relevant Government Agencies when the project works will/ may affect Maintained Assets;
  • Evaluate the progress on site against the programme and agreed milestones at Package Level. Use this information to provide accurate updates to the project team and agreed reporting lines;
  • Assist the Contractor when appropriate for the project works in the review of Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, commissioning plans and other project documentation;
  • Undertake, or arrange for others to undertake, suitable inspections/ audits for the project works being managed in regard to safety, quality, environment, engineering/ design compliance, functionality, and commissioning;
  • Keep suitable records for the works being managed and communicate information regarding construction management to the rest of the project team in a timely and effective manner;
  • For the project works being managed, identify issues on site that may result in cost variation and report them to the project team, providing assistance in the valuation of these variations;
  • When significant issues are encountered these will be escalated through the appropriate channels to facilitate a timely and effective escalation and resolution;
  • Support Lead Construction Manager to Identify best practices and effective innovation to the Owner and provide background information, costs, and benefits to enable the best practices to be effectively disseminated;
  • Support Lead Construction Manager to Identify areas where a ‘continuous improvement’ approach to construction management could bring benefit;
  • Provide ‘buildability’ advice to the project team at Package-level; and
  • Support Lead Construction Manager to create plan, co-ordinate and manage asset transfer of civil infrastructure into maintenance and operation.
  • Support Lead Construction Manager with monthly initiative-levels reports as PCC (Project Control Consultant) who will be overseeing a supervision consultant/s shall include:
    • The progress of construction works including identification of delay with subsequent cause and follow up action(s);
    • Details on performance trends (Earned Value Management metrics) and progress updates at the initiative and project level are captured in the reporting period; this includes any necessary visuals and commentary narratives highlighting summaries, challenges (Top Risks & Issues) and associated response strategies.
    • Payments made to contractors;
    • Any health and safety incidents at the site, and events involving damage to property;
    • Any clarifications or instructions issued in connection with the construction contracts;
    • Any variations made or applied for under the construction contracts;
    • Any extensions of time and adjustments to the contract price made or applied for under the construction contracts;
    • Any suspensions of work on the site;
    • Any inspections or tests completed on the site;
    • Any force majeure events;
    • Any disputes under or in connection with the construction contracts; and
    • Any other information…
