Construction Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed construction plans, schedules, and budgets aligning with project objectives, design specifications, and client requirements.
• Monitor and control construction progress to ensure adherence to timelines and cost targets.
• Oversee all on‑site construction activities, including civil, mechanical, e.i. piping, and structural works, ensuring quality craftsmanship and compliance with engineering drawings, codes, and standards.
• Lead and manage construction team, including site supervisors, engineers, technicians, and subcontractors; assign tasks, provide guidance and mentorship, foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Implement and enforce strict HSE policies and procedures on site; conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, safety briefings, and incident investigations to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
• Manage subcontractor selection, evaluation, and performance; monitor work quality and ensure timely completion of subcontractor tasks.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, procurement, quality, operations) to ensure seamless integration of construction activities.
• Troubleshoot construction-related issues and develop effective solutions to minimize project impact.
• Manage documentation, including progress reports, inspection records, punch list, change orders; ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• More than 10 years of relevant experience in petrochemical, oil & gas plant, with at least 5 years in construction manager roles overseeing large‑scale gas plant start‑ups.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large‑scale oil & gas plant construction projects from initiation to completion, on time and within budget.
• Solid experience in managing subcontractors, vendors, and cross‑functional teams in construction environment; ability to negotiate contracts and resolve disputes.
• In‑depth understanding of HSE regulations and best practices in oil & gas plant construction; proven track record of maintaining a safe construction site (Zero lost‑time incidents preferred).
• Experience working with international clients, multi‑cultural teams; ADNOC experience is a plus.
