Role Purpose
The Landscape Construction Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and executing all landscape construction activities for high‑rise buildings, hotels, and community projects. The role ensures that all softscape, hardscape, and irrigation works are completed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and scheduled time frames. The position requires strong technical knowledge, site coordination, subcontractor management, and problem‑solving skills.
Key Accountabilities Project Planning & Coordination- Review IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements.
- Prepare detailed work plans, construction methodologies, and sequencing for all landscape activities.
- Coordinate with main contractor, consultants, architects, and relevant stakeholders to finalize landscape scope.
- Attend weekly progress, coordination, and technical meetings.
- Manage, supervise, and monitor all landscape works including:
- Softscape installation (trees, shrubs, ground covers, lawns).
- Hardscape works (pavers, kerbstone, walkways, pergolas, water features).
- Irrigation networks and pump room installation (Mainline and secondary network).
- External lighting, street furniture, play areas, and site amenities.
- Potable water network.
- Ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, method statements, and QA/QC procedures.
- Verify setting‑out works and coordinate with survey teams.
- Monitor daily workforce allocation and productivity.
- Implement quality control procedures for materials, installation, and finishing.
- Ensure all materials meet project specifications and obtain consultant approvals.
- Check and approve mock‑ups and samples prior to final execution.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed across all work fronts.
- Coordinate inspections with the consultant and close comments immediately.
- Review subcontractor work progress and ensure performance meets project targets.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely availability of plants, materials, and equipment.
- Verify plant health, size, and quality prior to delivery from nurseries.
- Evaluate subcontractor claims, variations, and technical submissions.
- Monitor project costs and ensure budget compliance.
- Prepare material requisitions, takeoff quantities, and procurement schedules.
- Review and verify subcontractor invoices and progress bills.
- Maintain updated logs: shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and work inspections.
- Develop landscape construction program in coordination with planning team.
- Track progress against baseline schedule and highlight delays or risks.
- Provide weekly and monthly progress reports, including updates, photos, and completed work status.
- Resolve site technical issues, clashes, and re‑design requirements in coordination with consultants.
- Suggest improvements to design and construction methodologies.
- Provide technical guidance to site engineers, supervisors, and workforce.
- 8. Handover & Maintenance
- Ensure completion of snagging / de‑snagging for all landscape works.
- Coordinate T&C for irrigation systems and water features.
- Ensure smooth transition into soft landscape maintenance period.
- Prepare as‑built drawings and O&M manuals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 5–10 years experience in landscape construction for high‑rise, hospitality, or community projects.
- Strong knowledge of softscape, hardscape, irrigation, and external works.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to read drawings, prepare reports, and manage subcontractors.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, HSE standards, and project management tools.
