The Site Foreman – Steel Structure is responsible for supervising and coordinating all structural steel erection and installation activities at the project site. The role ensures that steel structure works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The Foreman will lead site crews, coordinate with project teams, and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the erection and installation of structural steel components including columns, beams, trusses, rafters, bracings, staircases, platforms, canopies, handrails, ladders, and miscellaneous steel works.
- Ensure all works are carried out according to approved shop drawings, erection drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
- Monitor daily site activities and allocate manpower effectively to achieve planned targets.
- Ensure proper alignment, leveling, plumbing, and fixing of structural steel members.
- Coordinate site modifications and minor fabrication works when required.
- Lead and supervise steel erectors, riggers, welders, fabricators, and helpers.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity and workmanship.
- Ensure workforce discipline and compliance with company policies.
- Train and guide workers on safe working practices and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and other site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Verify material availability before commencing work and coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for timely delivery of materials.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and protection of steel components.
- Monitor the usage and condition of tools, equipment, lifting gear, and machinery.
- Coordinate crane operations, rigging activities, and lifting sequences.
- Ensure all lifting activities are carried out as per approved lifting plans.
- Work closely with lifting supervisors, crane operators, and riggers.
- Monitor safe erection procedures and stability of erected structures.
- Ensure installation meets project quality requirements and approved tolerances.
- Coordinate inspections with QA/QC Engineers and client representatives.
- Assist in resolving NCRs, punch points, and corrective actions.
- Verify bolt installation, torque tightening, welding quality, and final alignment.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Ensure workers use proper PPE at all times and enforce work‑at‑height, lifting, and hot‑work safety requirements.
- Identify unsafe conditions and take immediate corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company, consultant, client, and local authority safety regulations.
- Prepare daily progress reports and manpower reports.
- Report delays, material shortages, and technical issues to management.
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, Site Engineers, QA/QC, and HSE teams.
- Participate in progress meetings and project planning discussions.
- Diploma, Technical Certificate, or Trade Qualification in Construction, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in structural steel erection projects.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Site Foreman or Structural Steel Foreman.
- GCC experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in steel structures, PEB buildings, warehouses, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings and erection drawings.
- Knowledge of steel erection methodologies and sequencing.
- Understanding of rigging, lifting operations, and crane coordination.
- Familiarity with bolt tightening, torqueing, welding, and steel connections.
- Knowledge of construction quality standards and safety regulations.
- Rigger & Signalman Certification
