Purpose
The Land Surveyor is responsible for carrying out precise surveying and setting‑out works for building construction projects to ensure all structural elements are positioned accurately as per approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Setting Out
:
Perform accurate setting‑out for building works including gridlines, benchmarks, and control points; excavation and foundation layouts; columns, walls, slabs and structural components; establish and maintain site reference points and levels. - Surveying Activities
:
Conduct topographic and site surveys before and during construction, measure distances, elevations and angles using total station, GPS, RTK systems, auto level and laser level, and verify site conditions against design drawings. - As‑Built Surveys
:
Prepare as‑built surveys for completed works, record actual site measurements and deviations from design, and submit accurate reports for project documentation and approvals. - Drawings Coordination
:
Interpret construction drawings (architectural and structural), coordinate with site engineers, foremen, QA/QC team and MEP teams to ensure alignment with services, and assist in resolving discrepancies between drawings and site conditions. - Quality Assurance
:
Ensure all setting‑out work is accurate to avoid rework; conduct periodic checks to confirm alignment, levels and dimensions; report any deviations or site issues immediately. - Equipment Handling
:
Operate and maintain surveying equipment (total station, GPS, levels); ensure instruments are calibrated and handled safely. - Documentation & Reporting
:
Maintain survey records, field notes and reports; prepare and update survey data for site engineers and consultants; submit reports on completed survey works and site progress. - Health & Safety Compliance
:
Follow all HSE procedures on site; ensure safe surveying practices, especially near excavations and height areas; use appropriate PPE at all times.
- Diploma or degree in surveying, civil engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 4–8 years of experience in building construction projects.
- Strong experience in high‑rise, residential, or commercial building projects preferred.
- GCC/UAE experience an advantage.
