Job Overview
Parsons is seeking a Structural Inspector (Bridges) for the Abu Dhabi, UAE project. The role requires extensive monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing, and documentation of all structural/bridge and tunnel works to ensure compliance with contract requirements and specifications.
Responsibilities- Assist the Structural Assistant Resident Engineer in performing site duties related to bridges, MSE walls, structural works, pump station buildings, and steel structures in accordance with approved shop drawings and project specifications.
- Maintain a detailed diary of daily work activities, issues, approvals or rejections, hours of operation, labor and equipment used, and sign at the end of each day.
- Attend to Work Inspection Requests (WIR) submitted by contractors and take appropriate action promptly.
- Monitor work quality and assess safety, health, and environmental issues to ensure compliance with contract specifications and risk assessments.
- Prepare Surveillance Reports for deficiencies found on site and, if necessary, complete Site Observation Reports (SOR) or Non‑Conformance Reports (NCR).
- Provide technical input to resolve discipline‑related issues that arise on site.
- Prepare and complete necessary documentation prior to inspection of the works and process thereafter.
- Keep, monitor, and follow up as necessary, maintaining complete records of work execution.
- Ensure project quality control procedures are applied and monitored for improvement.
- Communicate site progress information regularly.
- Coordinate works to ensure successful hand‑over of the project.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute.
- Minimum of 5+ years of civil construction experience on major structural projects such as bridges and pump station buildings.
- GCC experience is an advantage.
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the project team.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret construction specifications and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of construction processes relevant to the assignment.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in data access, record maintenance, report generation, and project‑specific engineering software.
