Overview
Wood is looking for a Site Construction Director with extensive experience in managing complex construction projects within the oil and gas energy sector ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. The Site Construction Director will represent Wood on site and be responsible for organizing, managing and administering all site activities in accordance with Wood’s operating policies, principles, relevant legislation and Client requirements.
Qualifications- Degree qualified or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management with at least 10 years in a leadership role on large‑scale EPC and EPCm projects in the gas sector.
- Extensive track record managing field engineering activities within the Oil and Gas sector.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in construction practices.
- Project Leadership – Lead and manage the construction phase of the EPCm project, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Budget Management – Oversee the project budget and ensure cost‑control measures are in place.
- Schedule Management – Develop and maintain the project schedule to ensure timely completion of all construction activities.
- Quality Assurance – Implement and enforce quality control procedures so all work meets required standards and specifications.
- Stakeholder Communication – Serve as point of contact for all construction‑related matters, maintaining effective communication with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Team Management – Lead and mentor the construction team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Risk Management – Identify and mitigate potential risks to the project, ensuring proactive measures are in place.
- Compliance – Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state and federal regulations.
- Operational Planning – Define, shape and execute operational plans to support short‑ and long‑term strategy including future growth aspirations.
- Field Coordination – Act as primary contact with the Project Director for field matters; supervise contractors; review construction schedules; provide safety prescriptions; advise Client; coordinate with Contract Managers and Engineering staff; ensure documentation and approvals are obtained.
- Administer industrial relations and safety policies to maintain proper discipline for Wood Team.
