Key ResponsibilitiesThe Superintendent – Civil will work with subcontractor supervision, direct activities to project priorities, ensure required support is available, and monitor labour and equipment levels for efficiency. He or she will maintain a 90‑day look‑ahead schedule, provide leadership for multi‑discipline site supervision, assist subcontractors in identifying optimal execution methods, monitor daily construction details and progress, understand Petrofac scope of work, approve daily timesheets, manage change orders, support the construction manager/engineer with technical decisions, take ownership of safety by reviewing HSSE plans and conducting toolbox talks, verify ITPs and QCPs, monitor subcontractor trade personnel for skill gaps, ensure quality control inspections, resolve technical queries and non‑compliance reports, coordinate with field engineering for client approvals, review responsibility matrices, attend schedule review meetings, submit daily and weekly reports, identify schedule delays and propose remedial actions, share technical knowledge, mentor subordinates, assist with punch list closure, coordinate commissioning, report quantities, provide mandatory mandatory mandatory training, supervise lifting and scaffolding if required, and ensure adherence to Petrofac’s procedures.
ESSENTIALQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
A minimum of one year of site experience in Civil, Structural / Building construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and subcontractors. Preferred candidates will have experience in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), the Middle East, and/or North Africa, and will have worked with a diverse international workforce. Strong communication skills, familiarity with international codes and standards (BS, ASTM, ACI, etc.),
knowledge of concrete/asphalt mix designs, laboratory testing, and earthworks and grouting. Ability to read and interpret building sectional, reinforcement and structural steel drawings. Competence in solving on‑site civil, building and structural issues; computer proficiency; fluent written and spoken English; and proficiency in Word, email, spreadsheets and presentations. A positive “can do” attitude, strong work ethic, conceptual thinking, problem‑solving ability and capacity to work under pressure are essential.
Training in lifting and scaffolding supervision is preferred.
Training in lifting and scaffolding supervision may be required. Applicants will be expected to adhere to Petrofac’s Golden Rules of Safety, the 9 Lifesaving Rules of 2020, and Petrofac values.
