Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all mechanical construction activities related to HVAC systems including ductwork, chilled water piping, equipment installation, insulation and associated mechanical works. Lead and coordinate Mechanical Supervisors, Foremen, subcontractors and construction crews to achieve project objectives. Plan daily and weekly work activities in line with project schedules and construction priorities. Review construction drawings, method statements, work procedures, and project specifications before execution.
Coordinate with engineering, QA QC, HSE, planning, procurement, scaffolding, lifting, and other construction disciplines to ensure smooth work execution. Monitor work progress, productivity, manpower utilization, and material availability to meet project milestones. Ensure all mechanical installations comply with project specifications, applicable codes, client requirements and approved IFC drawings. Monitor construction quality and coordinate inspections with QA QC personnel throughout all stages of installation.
Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and project HSE requirements. Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and regular site inspections to promote a safe working environment. Identify construction issues, provide technical guidance and implement corrective actions to minimize delays. Coordinate testing, pre-commissioning, punch list clearance and mechanical completion activities. Review and verify daily progress reports, manpower reports and construction documentation.
Support planning activities by identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation measures. Participate in project coordination meetings with client representatives, consultants and subcontractors. Ensure effective housekeeping, proper equipment utilization, and compliance with company and client procedures throughout the project.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Supervisory or construction management training is preferred. Additional HSE certifications will be an advantage. Minimum 10 years of mechanical construction experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial projects. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, chilled water piping, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning support.
