Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Civil Engineering
Overview
We re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Resident Engineer to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will serve as a key on-site representative, overseeing construction activities, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining effective communication between all project stakeholders. As a Resident Engineer, you will be instrumental in translating project specifications into reality while maintaining compliance with UAE building codes and safety regulations.
Responsibilities- Conduct regular on-site inspections of workmanship, materials, and construction activities to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards
- Supervise and coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and laborers to ensure efficient project execution and timeline compliance
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and change orders in a timely manner
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, and technical records
- Identify and resolve technical issues and discrepancies on-site, implementing innovative solutions to overcome construction challenges
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project managers to address concerns and ensure transparent communication
- Monitor project budgets and schedules, reporting variances and recommending corrective actions
- Ensure strict compliance with UAE building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and local requirements
- Perform material testing and quality assurance activities to verify compliance with project standards
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for project stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance overall project performance
- Support the implementation of sustainable construction practices and safety protocols on-site
- Maintain organized records and utilize project management tools to track progress and deliverables
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in building engineering and on-site construction management
- Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects in the Middle East region
- In-depth knowledge of UAE construction standards, building codes, and local regulations
- Strong understanding of building development, construction methodologies, and quality control processes
- Excellent project management skills, including budget tracking and schedule management
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and specifications
- Proficiency in technical report writing and strong communication skills
- Experience conducting material inspections and quality assurance activities
- Familiarity with BIM technology and project management software
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on-site while maintaining collaborative relationships
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Willingness to work on-site full-time and travel as required for project needs
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and implement innovative solutions
- Knowledge of safety compliance and environmental regulations in construction
- Preferred:
Experience with LEED certification processes or sustainable construction practices
