Health Safety Environment Officer

The HSE Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements for earthworks activities. The role ensures compliance with project HSE plans, client requirements, local regulations, and company safety standards to maintain a safe and environmentally responsible worksite.

• Conduct daily site safety inspections for excavation, grading, back filling, compaction, and heavy equipment operation
• Ensure compliance with approved method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work system
• Monitor safe operation of earthmoving equipment including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, graders, rollers, dump trucks, and loaded
• Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive action
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE awareness session
• Ensure proper use of PPE by all site personnel
• Monitor traffic management and pedestrian safety within the worksite
• Verify lifting operations and excavation activities are performed safely
• Ensure emergency preparedness measures are maintained at site
• Maintain related registers, checklists and other project documentation

• Minimum 3+ years of HSE experience in civil construction or earthworks project
• Experience in excavation, trenching, roadworks, grading, and heavy equipment operations preferred
• NEBOSH IGC / OSHA certification or equivalent preferred
