We are currently hiring a Project Director for a high-rise building project in Abu Dhabi.
Job PurposeThe Project Director oversees the entire design and construction process, ensuring the successful planning, execution, and completion of high-value projects. This role is critical in providing strategic leadership, managing resources, and ensuring the project meets quality, timeline, and budgetary objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the strategic vision for the high-value project, aligning with the Dutco Construction’s overall objectives.
- Provide overall leadership and direction to ensure the successful execution of the project.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the Dutco Construction and the client, fostering strong relationships and addressing client concerns.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and collaboration.
- Oversee contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, ensuring favourable terms and conditions.
- Manage changes to the scope of work and contractual agreements.
- Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring financial viability and profitability.
- Implement cost control measures to monitor and manage expenses within the established budget.
- Identify potential risks associated with the project and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and minimize project disruptions.
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary project team, providing guidance, support, and oversight.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the project plan, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and adjust strategies as needed to ensure timely completion.
- Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure that the project meets or exceeds specified standards.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry best practices.
- Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders, including company leadership, project teams, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide updates on project milestones, challenges, and successes.
- Implement and enforce HSE policies and procedures to promote a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports, financial records, and contractual agreements.
- Provide regular reports to company management on project status, challenges, and opportunities.
- Address and resolve conflicts that may arise during the course of the project, whether internal or external.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned for future projects.
- Represent the company in public forums and engage with the local community as needed.
- Manage public relations aspects of the project, ensuring a positive company image.
Master’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. PMP or other relevant certifications are advantageous.
Required Experience- Minimum 20 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience serving in the capacity of Project Director.
- Proven experience in high-rise building projects, including at least 5 years managing projects of 30+ floors.
- Must have successfully delivered 2 to 4 high-value projects from inception through handover while acting as Project Director.
- The most recent 5 years of experience must have been gained within the GCC region.
- Demonstrated expertise in project leadership, stakeholder management, commercial oversight, construction execution, and successful project delivery within budget and schedule requirements.
